I have been interested in essential oils and aromatherapy for many years. Because of that , I chose to include aromatherapy as part of my practice as an herbalist. And of course, I also use essential oils in salves and creams, combining then with herbal oils.
I thought it would be fun to make skin care products such as masks, hydrosols, aftershaves abd creams, as Christmas gifts for friends and relatives. I hoped they would be appreciated , but I was surprised when so many recipients requested more of what they had received, saying they loved how these products made them look and feel. This was how my product line: Love Your Skin Again (LYSA)came about.
LYSA products are made only from all natural ingredients which are often very costly. They take time to prepare – I have no assembly line – and I have to keep on hand a full inventory of essential oils, carrier oils, botanical extracts, and bases; as well as bottles, tubes and jars of different sizes and functions. This has become a major expense for me, and so I decided since I do not mark-up my services as an herbalist, that it would be reasonable for me to add a margin to the price of my LYSA products so as to subsidize my herbalist services.
